Past WV, into MD - June 27, 8:30 pm, by Greg Hendrickson
Here is a picture of Janet's demon in West Virginia from 2008. It is the point where she stopped her RAAM effort last year. It's a point on the road, but it's also a point that Janet and TeamOsprey has spent the past year preparing to conquer. Congratulations to Janet and the team on the road. And thanks to the RAAM cheering squad that came out last night to provide a little humor and motivation in the last miles! She's now less than 200 miles from the finish line, and the entire team (myself included) could not be more proud of this accomplishment: crushing last year's demon, and pushing on to a successful finish in Annapolis.
The crew has also been battling some illness, and we are sending our best to Kat, wishing her the best of health as she and Lisa follow Janet on the night shift tonight. It's been an incredible effort by both Janet and the crew, with crew chief Bill Osborn bringing together a fantastic group. Way to go, Bill, Kathryn, Tom, Patty Jo, Kat and Lisa!!
Janet and the crew are positive and pushing ahead, on the way into Time Station 48 in Hancock, MD, which will leave 180 miles to go.
At the time of this post the
Live GPS Tracking shows Janet is east of Hancock, MD, approximately 20 miles from the time station in Hancock, MD. Daniela hit time station 49 in Rouzerville, PA at 5:43pm, riding steady and strong to the finish.
